Branding your business is absolutely important. There are several key reasons that this is a must for anyone building or looking to grow their business.

Trust is number one. We are all familiar with establishing trust in order to form relationships in our lives, it’s not different for a business. You are asking potential clients to trust that you will provide the product or service your are offering as you are offering it. You want them to know that their choice within you was well placed. A big part of that is displaying yourself (your business) in a professional manner. When you are looking for someone to do a job for you, you more than likely are looking for reassurance that you are picking the right person. A consistent, well maintained brand helps solidify that trust. Making it more likely that they will contact you for what you are offering. A Graphic Designer builds that brand for you. Creating it from your provided outline to properly convey your message and ideals.

Your brand is your visual identity. Something as simple as your colour scheme or the icon in your logo can easily be remembered. Surely if it is seen frequently. Part of building your brand isn’t just creating the image. Once the design work is done, it must be put to good use. Frequent posts build your online presence. Graphics on your vehicle or billboards help keep that image in mind of locals. The longer and more consistently it is used the more familiar it becomes to those that see it. For that to work you need it to be uniquely you. This doesn’t mean you have to have a brand that isn’t like anyone else. You can use your competitors as inspiration or to know what works with your target demographic. But ultimately you want to be recognized from the rest.

Customer loyalty brings them coming back to you. It also means that when they encounter someone else looking for what you offer they are likely to suggest you. Loyalty is the emotional connection you have with your clients and you want it to be a positive one. This comes with honesty (providing exactly what you advertise) and an outwards image of professionalism. You want to hire the expert for the job so you want to look like the pro they are looking for to keep them coming back.
This was just a basic breakdown of what a Brand does for you. Countless sources across the web can show you a great number of reasons why you want to brand yourself well. But if I could describe it simply – would you buy an unbranded car? Or a house from someone who only gave you their name in black text on a white card? What about coffee in a clear/unlabelled package? Of course there are always exceptions – but you don’t want to hope for those.
To build your brand you start with an idea. Give that idea to a designer and bring it to life!
